    Hi Tena!
I was a participating author at our recent Mountain of Authors Event, and I am also on the board with the Colorado Authors League. CAL is an organization for published authors so it’s a bit different than the other writers groups in our area. We focus more on marketing and selling than the writing process as we have already successfully published (either self-published or traditional) and are currently selling books.
The advantage of belonging to this organization is the sharing of marketing trends, ideas, and expertise, along with some opportunities for selling cooperatively. We have had a co op booth for a number of years at the Colorado Country Christmas Gift Show in Denver every November, and we are in the process of gathering interest for a booth at the Gift Show’s inaugural event in Colorado Springs. Being a CAL member, allows you to register for these events for a lesser registration fee. One of our members also puts together a booth at Georgetown during the Christmas season for yet another opportunity to band together with fellow authors to sell books.
Other reasons to be a part of CAL is their annual book contest for members only and the author pages on our website. (We’ve been in transition this spring to a new site, so things are still a bit messy)
Let me know if you have any questions. To apply for membership go to http://www.coloradoauthors.org

2020 I’m discovering this wonderful and helpful Website .
Long story with my male eclectus , his name is Cosmos. Because of the health situation of the breeder , I need to take care of him ,he is 2 months old .He is not my fist parrot but I never had to take care of a bird that young, and I have to handfeed him .
His weight is 330 gm , so I give him 33/4 times a day cc at the moment
The other day, he screamed while feeding , and sneezed , I wonder if he inhaled a bit of formula, I find that very scary, would you recommend me to go check at the Vet ?
Also , when should I start introducing him to solid food ? I’m trying to do my best for this beautiful bird and don’t want to make any mistake .
    Thank you
Ps: Sorry for my English, I’m French .

    • Listen to his breathing is there a rattle or is his nares wet? If not, he is probably fine. If you aren’t sure, a vet visit is always a good thing. Have you had him to a vet for a well birdy check up? That’s always a good think for a new bird. At 8 weeks, I start introducing him to cheerios, a few small chopped up fruits and veggies. Always supervise this stage of his food consumption. They learn about food by playing with it. When Taoc was a baby, I’d have a play session with her on a table top. Clean it off well, spread out several small different types and textures of fruits and veggies. They love cheerios. Do this between feedings so he’s hungry but not staving. The more food types you expose him to the better eater he will be as an adult. Taco is now 22 years old and she eats everything I give her. Except Strawberries. She flings those right out of her bowl or cage if possible. Don’t feed seads yet. Keep seeds to a minimum even as an adult. Good luck! Enjoy your little guy. They grow up way too fast!
