Topics I Never Get Tired of Talking About -#LSRs Wed Blog Challenge

Welcome to #L&SR’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge September 9, 2020, Topics I never get tired of talking about!  Oh this is a dangerous one and I could go on forever. But I won’t.  Please have a seat, grab an iced tea or lemonade out of the cooler. Be sure and try a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie.

FIrst thing that comes to mind is the changing landscape of the publishing industry. It’s kinda like the Colorado weather.  Just wait a few minutes and it’ll change. Same for promotions. What works today, may not work tomorrow or months from today.

Next. My dog and training.  We’ve gone to great lengths to make sure she is well behaved. She got her CGC (Caine Good Citizenship) certification at 13 months old. She enjoyed Agility and Obedience classes. Now that she is older (Turned 8 years old in August) she is retired from classes but she still enjoys a good romp  through the agility course set up in our backyard.

Another one of the topics I never get tired of talking about, our Eclectus Parrot. She’s twenty-two years old and is a hoot.  She has a large vocabulary and uses most phrases appropriately. She  roller skates, plays basketball and loves her sunroom. I am a full time writer and my day ends at 4:00 p.m., on the dot. Which is the time she starts calling to be let out of her cage and into the sunroom for one on one time. She and the dog are great friends. I swear they conspire to take over the world on a daily basis.  Luckily, that hasn’t happened yet. LOL

Camping is also a favorite topic. Nothing like getting away to a mountain destination and relaxing among the pine and aspen trees to watch the wild life. We have traveled over three-quarters of the US in our RV, with our dog, parrot, and fifty-year-old box turtle. Love national and state parks, as well as seeing different parts of the country. We haven’t made it to the north east yet, but it’s on the list.  Salem over Halloween week is a must! LOL

So there you have it some of the topics I never get tired of talking about.  How about you? What topics do you never tire of talking about?

Alas, I must return to my writing cave  where deadlines loom preparing promo on my upcoming release HIDDEN GYPSY MAGIC September 28, 2020 .  Stay tuned! Chocolate Raspberry Magic release date been extended until April 2021. And I’m working on a new WIP sixth book in A Demon’s Witch Series(very exciting and coming along nicely)  AND a new project is simmering  Wylder West Assignment. Keep an eye out for more information.  Now  let’s see what topics do others never tire of talking about.  L&SR

A sneak peek at Hidden Gypsy Magic:

Discover the consequences of awakening hidden Gypsy magic!

The Salem Wildlife Sanctuary is Gwen Taylor’s life work.  Her Irish Gypsy heritage provides a hidden talent she uses to help the creatures under her care.  But even her magical skills can’t help new rescues in dire need of veterinary care.

The opportunity of signing on as the vet for Gwen’s sanctuary dropped into Brock Scutter’s lap after he expanded his practice to include wildlife. The personal attraction he and Gwen experience is undeniable the more their professional and personal lives collide.

Touring the only “non-haunted” house in Salem they both feel a spark of magic.  A trip to his family’s cabin uncovers a heritage he didn’t know existed.  If they want a future together, it means facing the consequences of awakening hidden Gypsy magic and a race against the clock to correct past wrongs.

Thanks for popping in. I really appreciate it. Next week, September 9, 2020, can you believe it? Autumn is heading our way. Anyway the topic will be book with the most words I’ve had to look up. That will be interesting! Until then have fun, stay safe and never let the world get you down!

Topics that Make Me Stop Reading a Book

Welcome to #L&SR’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge September 2, 2020, Topics that make me stop reading a book!  Well now that’s interesting.  Please have a seat, grab an iced tea or lemonade out of the cooler. Be sure and try a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie.

FIrst thing that comes to mind was several years ago, but remains in my mind for several reasons.  The book is Elfstone of Shannara by Terry Brooks. I’d read everything from Terry Brooks, not necessarily in order (one of my quirks). It was approximately two in the morning, yep, one of those book you can’t put down until… I got to the part where he killed of this adorable fuzzy creature.  I was so angry, I threw the book across the room, it hit the wall with a bang, and my husband jumped out of the bed and yelled “What’s going on?” I relayed the events preceding the book’s flight across the room. His words I won’t repeat here, but he was less than impressed. But he has never let me forget that.  I didn’t pick up the book for a week and have never read another Terry Brooks.   So if the author kills off animals, I’ll never read or finish the book.

Next would be deceit and cheating in a romance book. I don’t like those elements in life and certainly not in a book I read for entertainment.

Last – Cliffhangers – If I read a book no matter how good it is if it ends on a cliffhanger,  odds are that I won’t pick up a book from that author again.  There have been a few exceptions (warned of a cliffhanger and decided to read it anyway) these are few and far between.

So there you have it topics that make me stop reading a book.  How about you? What topic makes you stop reading a book?

Alas, I must return to my writing cave  where deadlines loom preparing promo on my upcoming release HIDDEN GYPSY MAGIC September 28, 2020 .  Stay tuned! Cover Reveal for Mistletoe, Mobster’s & Mozzarella by Peggy Jaeger

Yep it’s early, but the Halloween decorations are already in the stores, so why not get a jump on Christmas giving, to yourself, a friend or whoever? Peggy Jaeger is always ahead of the curve.  Take a peek at the lovely cover of Mistletoe, Mobster’s & Mozzarella!

Finding a body in the freezer of the family deli isn’t the way Madonna San Valentino planned to start her day.

Adding insult to injury, the investigating detective is the one guy she’s never been able to forget. After seven minutes of heaven in the back seat of his car when they were teenagers, Tony Roma skipped town without so much as a thanks for the memory.

Just when Madonna thinks the present situation can’t get any worse, Tony is ordered to go undercover at the deli to ferret out a killer. Forced to work together, she vows to keep their relationship cool and professional. But with the sexy, longing looks he tosses her at every turn, Madonna’s resolve is weakening.

With Christmas drawing closer and Tony’s investigation taking an unexpected turn, Madonna is at her wit’s end. Can she really be falling for him again? And will he wind up leaving her broken hearted and alone like the last time?
Bless you all, and you know whenever I can return the favor, all you need to do is email me. We’re all in this together, after all!

The strangest things I’ve eaten – #L&SR’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge

Welcome to #L&SR’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge August 26, 2020, The strangest things I’ve eaten!  Well now that’s interesting.  Please have a seat, grab an iced tea or lemonade out of the cooler. Be sure and try a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie.

Okay I admit to being a picky eater: I love fruits, hate most veggies, and love italian. Strange food is not my forte. However in my younger days, I was tricked into eating a few odd items.

Beef Tongue

Beef tongue. Suppose to be a delicacy. That is a downright lie. It was like chewing on old shoe leather. Yuck!

Bulgogi

During the years I studied Taekwondo, I tasted a few different oriental foods. Some I enjoyed like Bulgogi. I have the recipe and make it on a regular basis.

But Octopus I just couldn’t get past my tongue. The texture was just to weird for my palate. <shivers>

So give me good old pizza and I’m a happy camper!

So there you have it the strangest things I’ve eaten .  How about you? Eaten any strange things?

Alas, I must return to my writing cave  where deadlines loom preparing promo on my upcoming release HIDDEN GYPSY MAGIC September 28, 2020 .  Stay tuned! And working on a new WIP sixth book in A Demon’s Witch Series(very exciting and coming along very well)  AND a new project is simmering  Wylder West Assignment. Keep an eye out for more information.  Now  let’s see what other authors wanted to do when whey grew up vs what the do.  L&SR
