#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 2-19-2020 Types of Exercise I Enjoy.
Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 2-19-2020 Types of Exercise I Enjoy. Wow, that’s a tough one. First of all I hate any type of exercise in a gym. I admit I’m forced to exercise in my home gym in inclement weather (Been a lot of that this year. As I write this we have 8 inches of snow and it’s still falling. But outdoors in decent weather is a different story. Sit down, grab a hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie. Lets get started.,
Okay here is a list of Types of Exercise I Enjoy in no particular order.
Kayaking, The serenity of the smooth lake water, the wildlife frolicking along the banks renews your spirit.
Hiking, the beauty of nature beckons on the mountain trails with twittering birds, scurrying squirrels, and graceful deer, elk or moose.
Biking zipping around on trails or streets in my neighborhood, wind in my hair, parrot in a specially designed back pack and dog in a trailer towed behind my bike, fun is had by all.
White Water Rafting, now that gets the Adrenalin flowing, heart pumping, and its an exhilarating experience.
Finally, the Neighborhood Walk, many a time I’ve worked out a plot problem, or a new story is born. Maybe even an additional sub-plot I didn’t know was needed. It’s relaxing and gets your heart pumping all at the same time, depending on your pace.
Most of the activities (except white-water rafting)are with my hubby, Mystic our dog and/or Taco our parrot.
I could go on and on, but the above will give you an idea of my preferences for exercise.
Alas, I must return to my writing cave where deadlines loom, so let’s see what other authors list as Exercise They Enjoy. L&SR

All of these sound wonderful, Tena. And I’ve never been a fan of the gym. Joined once years ago, and I hated it, lol!
Ooops! Forgot to add mine: https://www.marymorganauthor.com/post/long-and-short-reviews-weekly-blog-challenge-02-19-20
Couldn’t agree with you more on the gym. Ick. Thanks for stopping by!
That’s exactly how I work out my plot problems, too. Walks are great for that. Plus, you’re getting exercise. Double win!
Yabetcha! Thanks for stopping by!
Would love to hike more, but it’s such a chore driving to somewhere where I can. *sigh*
My post.
Yeah, that sucks. We drive to some of the fun places to hike too. But well worth the drive mostly. Thanks for stopping in!
It’s a good hour’s drive to the mountains in these parts and neither of my kids would want to come along so… yeah. If I had someone willing to come along, it’d definitely be worth the drive.
I used to love hiking, until my knee had other plans. I do enjoy lifting weights, the feel of my muscles as they work.
Yes, healthy knees are important for that! Nothing is nicer than seeing those muscles start to form, too.
We shared a few common answers this week! I’ve never been kayaking, but I’d bet I’d like it since I like canoeing.
And it’s really cool that you take your pets with you on these adventures. 🙂
My post.
yep if you can canoe, you’ll enjoy kayaking and it doesn’t dump you. LOL. Thanks for popping in.
You’re an active gal, Tena. Good for you. My favourite exercises are hiking, snow shoeing, cross cow try skiing, and canoeing. Thanks for sharing.
I’d love to learn to cross county ski. I’m not coordinated enough to downhill ski. LOL. Thanks for stopping in.
Is golf a form of hiking? If you walk some of the courses around here you go up and down a lot of hills and have to look out for rattle snakes. Thanks for coming by.
My pleasure. Glad you popped in.
There are a lot of outdoors-y things to do in your neck of the woods. Great pictures!!
Yep. That’s why I love living here. Love taking pictures too. I’m a native so that’s to be expected. LOL Thanks for stopping by!
I’ve never actually tried white-water rafting, but everything you’ve listed here is very much my kind of exercise. My answer is here!
Thanks for stopping by Michael.
Thanks for stopping by earlier. I went white water rafting a couple of times when I was much much younger.. lol…. not sure I would have the nerve to do it these days!
Know the feeling. The picture was our trip down the Royal gorge and it was a rough one. Don’t think we’ll do that one again. LOL Thanks for stopping by!
White water rafting. Oh my gravy! That sounds so exciting. Sounds like your a true outdoorsy gal. Love it!
Love the outdoors. Thanks for popping in.
OOh, I like kayaking. I can happily paddle for hours. Only problem is, I can’t get my big butt out of the silly thing at the end! lol
Getting in and out is sometimes a problem. But well worth the effort. Like you I love padding and watching the aquatic wild like in the lake and along the shore.
Ooh, that’s an impressive list of outoorsy activities, Tena! Love the action photos. That’s really cool.
Agree whole-heartedly about the neighbourhood walk for stimulating the brain. We’re lucky enough to live close to the beach so I do a lot of my thinking walks there. The combination of walk and water does wonders.
True. Only around here it’s the fresh mountain air and the scent of the pine trees. No beaches to be found around here. LOL Thanks for stopping by.
