Funniest Things That Have Happened To Me! #L&SR’s Weekly Blogging Challenge
Happy Holidays! Welcome to #L&SR’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge November 18, 2020, Funniest things that have happened to me. I puzzled on this one until my puzzler was sore, again! (Dr. Seuss) Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cauldron. Take your choice of a Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate.
Not sure if 2020 has sucked all the fun and good out of my world, or what, but I couldn’t think of a single funny thing that has happened to me. No don’t get me wrong, I’m not a mundane person, but … So I’ll tell you about funny things that happened to people and animals around me. Maybe I was the catalyst. Who knows. You be the judge.
First funniest things happened to our black and white cat, Aspen. I dropped a marshmallow on the floor, when I bent to pick it up, Aspen beat me to it. FIrst it stuck to her nose, then she batted with her paw, yep you guessed it, the marshmallow stuck to her paw, then she shook and flipped her paw, the marshmallow when flying and stuck to her tail. By this time I was laughing so hard my sides hurt. Finally, I took pity on her and took the sticky white ball off her. The she gave me the “eat shit and die look” as if it was all my fault she stole the marshmallow that fell on the floor. Aspen stalked into the other room and ignored me the rest of the day.
Shortly after I was married, we took a trip to Disneyland and Universal Studios. We took my mom because she’d never been to either amusement park. Walking through Universal Studios back then was a blast. What made it more entertaining was the character dressed like Frankenstein, took a liking to my mom. This monster, well over seven feet tall, followed her all over amid her screams and trying to shoo him away. It was hilarious as a crowd gathered to watch the antics. My mom failed to find the humor in it, which made it all the funnier.
We get hellacious winds in Colorado. Sixty to eighty mph is not unusual. Our puppy was about eight to ten weeks old and we’d let her outside to do her business. Yes, we were watching her. You have to understand this puppy, Mystic, always bounced and pounced rather than walk or run. Apparently, she bounced at the wrong time and the wind picked her up and send her tumbling end over end across the backyard. She looked like a furry ball rolling across the yard. Of course we rushed to her aid. Ater we made sure she was all right, we succumbed to gales of laughter. She wasn’t bothered at all. The minute we put her back on the ground, she shook herself off and started to chase leaves again. At that point, we picked her up and went in the house.
We were driving in YellowStone National Park, when this guy on a motorcycle ahead of us slammed his kickstand down, leaned the bike over and ran up the hill. We wondered that the heck. Then we saw, what the heck. A huge buffalo with twigs and pine boughs stuck in his horns was storming down the road swinging his head from side to side bellowing. Traffic was backed up behind him and we were on the other side of the road. He walked right up to the side of our van and looked in the window. We held our breath. We were holding our dogs mouth shut so she wouldn’t draw the bufflow’s attention. He finally passed on by, but I could just see us having to call the insurance company and tell them our brand new mini van had been gored by a buffalo in Yellowstone. Now it’s funny, then we were scared to death the buffalo was going to gore our van. Not a very good picture as the massive animal approached, but we were scared the clicking noise from the camera would attract his attention. You can see our side mirror in the lower right hand corner.

A Demon’s Witch by Tena Stetler – #MFRWHooks
For #MFRWhooks this week a tale about A Demon’s Witch! The awarding winning book that started it all. Undeniable attraction and dark secrets between demon and witch promises to tear apart their professional and personal worlds.
So pull up a chair and get comfy, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about A Demon’s Witch!
A little about A Demon’s Witch:
The award winning A Demon’s Witch, was born in a hair salon from an old rock and roll song. What if the hairdresser is really a ruggedly handsome demon overlord. What if a powerful witch breezed into his salon and the attraction was undeniable? What if the salon is multi-species catering to mortals and paranormal creatures alike is located in Washington DC? Adds a new dimension to our concept of DC, doesn’t it? The setting and storyline are unique.
Keeping a lid on all the paranormal beings inhabiting Washington D.C., is a daunting job. Bruce, a six hundred year old demon and the Territory Overlord of the Western Hemisphere, keeps his finger on the pulse of DC’s power players through the activities at his highly successful Wycked Hair Salon. His movie star good looks and body builder physique keeps his dance card full and the rumor mills running. Within these walls, his anonymity is safe, mostly.
Bruce’s world spins out of control when Angelique, a pint size, gorgeous witch, with an attitude breezes through the doors of his salon. She is the younger sister of Tristian, Bruce’s long time trusted enforcer, whose professional skills are second to none. Tristian is furious at the relationship between Bruce and Angelique, a dangerous situation, but something darker awaits them all. Yet undeniable attraction between demon and witch promises to tear apart both their professional and personal worlds.
Kick back in enjoy the adventures of Bruce and Angie as an entertaining escape from the not so ordinary world these days. This spicy romance has it all intrigue, humor, thrills, danger and a splash of magic to keep you on the edge of your seat.
A peek between the pages of A DEMON’S WITCH: The hook.
A feeling of dark foreboding, like storm clouds forming on the horizon before a violent storm, washed over Bruce as he maneuvered the SUV into the parking lot behind The Krystal Unicorn.
Tristian was already there and it wasn’t to give his report. Bruce could feel the fury in Tristian’s magic signature hanging in the air. A silver tipped arrow penetrated the windshield, split the arm securing the rearview mirror, and stuck in the headrest a quarter inch from Bruce’s neck. Blue liquid oozed from the tip and a stream of red mist escaped from the other end of the arrow.
“Hold your breath and don’t open the door or windows. The influx of fresh air will spread the poison.” He hissed though his teeth not daring to take a breath.
Air pressure inside the vehicle changed, Angie’s head felt like it was going to explode. “Bruce.” She whispered into his mind, a benefit of being mated.
“I know, just a few seconds more, I’ve got it handled.” His deep smooth voice floated reassuringly in her mind, as he reached over caressing her shoulder.
The pressure eased and the red mist sucked in on itself disappearing along with the oozing liquid. He pulled the arrow from the headrest, fingering the hole in the upholstery.
Through gritted teeth, Bruce growled. “His first mistake was that he missed me. His second deadly mistake was he risked your life. That is unforgivable.” Those two things also told Bruce that Tristian wasn’t thinking clearly, fury was coloring his judgment. That gave Bruce an edge, though the attack caught him off guard. He hadn’t expected Tristian’s attack to put his sister at risk.
The console between them lowered to seat level. He hoped to add fuel to the fury burning inside Tristian. Bruce put his arm around Angie’s waist and pulled her against him, his lips pressed against hers then gently covered her mouth as his tongue traced the soft fullness of her lips. He drew back, touched his lips to hers again trailing them down to the pulsing hollow of her neck and whispered, “You’re going into the shop now, Willow is waiting just on the other side of the door. Please stay there, you’ll be able to remain in my mind just don’t interfere. I need your presence there as a calming one. Willow can help you.”
“I don’t understand.”
“I know, there wasn’t time to explain how everything works and I’m not exactly sure myself. Only that I can feel you in my mind and I assume you can feel me in yours.”
“Yes, it’s a weird sensation,” Angie said a tremor in her voice.
“We’ll learn together to use it to our benefit, now is as good a time as any to practice.”
She snorted, “Sure, our lives are on the line. No big deal.” She threw up her hands.

#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 4-22-20 – Silliest Pet Peeves
Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 4-22-20. My Silliest Pet Peeves. Wow, going to strain my brain on this one. Please have a seat, grab a hot chocolate also got lemonade and chocolate chip cookie. Lets get started with my silliest pet peeves.
People that talk through the movie or a television show. while you trying to watch it.
People that don’t put their dogs on leash when it is required, like neighborhood parks and regional parks. Especially now with social distancing. If you want to exercise your dog off leash, go to a dog park. Don’t spoil other’s walking their dog on lead obeying the rules. Your dog may love everyone and every dog, but there are dogs or people out there that don’t appreciate uninvited attention from an unknown dog. (Putting my soap box away now.)
People who don’t pick up after their dogs, at the park, in other peoples yards or public places (sidewalks). Can you believe it?
FYI – I do own a dog, she is very well behaved and well trained (Spent her first 2.5 years in various dog training classes. Still she is always leashed and by my side when we go for a walk.
People that don’t make their children behave in public places.
A can opener that doesn’t open the entire can. Leaves the last quarter inch uncut. Silly isn’t it?
Reading a book that ends in a cliff hanger. I think those should display a warning “Cliffhanger”. I guess you’re supposed to buy the next book to find out what happens. But there is no guarantee it won”t end the same way. I don’t mind a happy for now ending, but cliff hanger, I usually won’t continue reading the series. Yep that’s why I write Paranormal Romance/Mystery, I like a happily ever after with lots of magic. If I want cliff hangers, all I have to do is turn on the TV news.
So there you have it, My Silliest Pet Peeves. I’d love to hear from you. Do you have silly pet peeves? List them in the comments below.
Alas, I must return to my writing cave where deadlines loom on a new WIP (very exciting and coming along very well) so let’s see what other authors list as their silly pet peeves. L&SR

A Sneak Peek into A Demon’s Witch!
Suddenly, he felt the magic aura shift and switched his attention to the front door. She breezed in, hair like spun gold flowing to her waist, with a seductive yet regal body and a sway to her hips that should be illegal even in DC. She wore a snug rose and cream colored sweater, cut low enough he could see the swells of her rounded breasts, tailored black slacks that fit her cute ass like a glove and four-inch spike heels. She paused in the center of the salon, wet from the sudden spring storm, and lowered the briefcase she’d used as an umbrella. Her sparkling violet eyes glanced up to the mezzanine where Bruce stood watching. Blatantly her gaze wandered over his well-muscled body, undressing him piece by piece, until he felt naked. He shook his head slightly and smoothed his shirt and slacks with his hand, just to make sure he was still wearing them.
Thanks for popping in. I really appreciate it. Next week, April 29 topic is Reason Why I Stopped Reading A Series I Loved. Boy that’s going to be interesting and fun! Why Did You Stop Reading A Series You Loved? ?

#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 4-15-20. Characters I’d Invite to a Dinner Party.
Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 4-15-20. Characters I’d Invite to a Dinner Party. Wow this is an interesting topic. Do we mean TV, Movie or Book? Please have a seat, grab a hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie. Lets get started.
Starting with books, I believe Bruce and Angie from A DEMON’S WITCH would be an interesting and entertaining addition to any dinner party.
Keelin and Flynn from Wild Irish Hearts by Trisia O’Malley. She’s a new author for me and I love her fun quirky characters and descriptive scenes. Of course the book is set in Ireland, so the dinner party would have to be there. RIght?
TV Characters I’d invite to a dinner party.
From When Calls the Heart (Hallmark movie) Lucas Bouchard and Elizabeth Thatcher. Interesting and challenging characters.
All Rise a new TV drama, Judge Lola Carmichael and Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan. Entertaining characters set in difficult but often humorous situations would bring stimulating topics to the party.
Moving to movies –
Okay it’s for selfish reasons that I would invite Aquaman, Jason Mamoa to a dinner party. Have you seen him dressed up in a suit and tie? I rest my case. LOL
Wonder Woman – her lasso of truth would provide for an entertaining dinner party experience and conversations.
So there you have it, Characters I’d Invite to a Dinner Party. I’d love to hear from you. Do you have characters you’d invite to a dinner party? List them in the comments below.
