My Favorite Things About Christmas & Holidays!
With the holiday season in full swing, Thought I’d mention a few of my favorite things. I love Halloween, it’s by far my favorite holiday and decorate for the All Hallows Eve almost as much as I do for Christmas, which comes in a close second. Did I mention, I LOVE to decorate! LOL At Thanksgiving the aroma of turkey, candied sweet potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie made the house smell so inviting. My mouth waters just thinking about it. But Christmas…well… Bright lights adorning neighborhoods, Christmas Carols playing in the malls, Christmas cards from near and far, and Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays on everyone’s lips makes the holiday season special. Here’s what makes my family’s holiday special.
1. Decorations. First of all, we start decorating the Friday after Thanksgiving. First the outside decorations go up. Then the tree, it’s lights, especially the bubble lights they are mesmerizing to watch. Several years ago, I brought the cutest colorful lifesaver shaped garland that I wind up the stairway banister. The tiny Precious Moments nativity is one I found years ago, along with Sam’s town, the soft lights from their windows are my parrots night light during the holidays.
2. Food. Christmas is turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, rolls, candied yams and pumpkin pie swirled in whipped cream. Yummmm! The leftovers are even better. Sometimes we freeze the turkey leftovers and weeks or even a month later, yummy turkey sandwiches are wonderful. I’ll be putting one of those sandwiches together for lunch today. Left overs from Thanksgiving. LOL
3. Music. While we decorate the tree, we play a wide variety of Christmas Carols from the traditional to Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. The carols are sung by rock and roll artists, county western or classical renditions. It has been a family traditional as long as I can remember. We reminisce where the beloved tree decorations passed down generation to generation originated and the funny stories each spark.
4. Movies. It’s officially the Christmas season when we watch Miracle on 31st Street and How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carey. He is such a hoot. Then its Scrooged with Bill Murray. Afterward most nights we enjoy watching the variety of Christmas movies collected. Yep, get my Christmas movie fix. Then of course there is always the Hallmark channel heart felt Christmas movie magic.
5. Christmas Light Looking. It isn’t Christmas without getting in the SUV and driving through town admiring everyone’s decorations. Some lighting displays are synchronized with popular holiday music wafting through the crisp night air as you drive by. It’s beautiful and we enjoy it every year with a mug of hot chocolate and Christmas cookies we pack with us for the drive.
6. Family and Friends. The best part of the holidays is connecting with family and friends, whether it’s a long over-due phone call to catch up or a board game with friends. Years ago, I started writing a Christmas letter with our family’s actives for the year, complete with pictures. Since then it’s become a tradition. Friends and family look forward to that letter and make sure updated address are in my hands by Thanksgiving. There have been scary times, happy times, sad and in-between times, but keeping in touch seems to help everyone weather the preverbal storms. It’s been a rough year for many.
One last favorite thing of mine is to curl up in front of a crackling fireplace with a good book and a mug of homemade hot chocolate. Speaking of good books, A Witch’s Holiday Wedding part of A Witch’s Journey Series is a heartwarming holiday tale, Only 99cents. Tales of redemption, magic, wildlife rescue, true love and paying it forward will leave you breathless.
If you already have these, you are going to want to check out A Witch’s Quandary, new on audiobook. A Broken Engagement leads to the discovery of stolen magic and malice with a little blackmail mixed in. Can they weather the storm and find a future together?
CHARM ME AGAIN audiobook. Two families long divided brought together through love and understanding. But there’s more, breaking the curse is only the first step to forever.
HIDDEN GYPSY MAGIC on audiobook. The consequences of awakening hidden gypsy magic could forever alter life as they know it! A trip to the past added a twist to the Salem Witch Trials. Be sure and take a listen.
So there you have it, a few of my favorite things along with a few gift ideas. What are yours favorite things?
With that, I’ll wish you all Love and Laughter. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Got any resolutions? Come on, you know you do. LOL What do you plan to change and what do you hope to see in 2022? I look forward to hearing from you! See you next year. I know it’s an old cliché, but couldn’t help myself!

Sneak peek between the pages of A Witch’s Quandary:
“This is an outrage. It’s my firm.” Bram bellowed slamming his fist down on the table. Sparks flew in all directions creating a red-hot spider web of power crackling across the tabletop. Everyone at the table scrambled back or stood. Dillon caught the malevolent spark in his father’s eye a split-second after Gale. She had already brought her hands together, the room sizzled as she conjured a ball of fire and with a few words sent the witch fire and spell at him.
“What have you done?” Bram screeched as the fire and spell hit him center mass. “Witchfire too? Bitch.” He slid to the floor.
Iris ran to his side, tears spilling her cheeks, she wiped his sweat-soaked brow with a napkin. “You just couldn’t stop, could you? What did you do? Make a deal with the devil? We should have put a stop to it. To you. But…” She helped him into a chair. “I’m afraid you’ve messed with the wrong witch, this time. Brought this on yourself. You did. But I won’t let you take this family—the firm—down with you.” Giving his shoulders a little shake, she gazed into his shocked eyes. “What have you done?”
Bram slowly shook his head and murmured, “It’s my firm.” He raised his gaze and glared at Gale pointing a bony finger at her. “You’ll pay for this.” Then turned his attention to Dillon. “I told you nothing good would come from aligning yourself with this witch. Her blood is not pure. Diluted by the Fae power of her…” He broke off.
Dillon stood at Gale’s back his hands steady and supportive on her shoulders as she said nothing for several beats. Eventually, she turned her emerald green eyes to him and held his gaze. “I couldn’t let him divide the family with that dark magic. I tempered my deadly witch fire with the spell.” She tore her gaze from Dillon’s, touching her fingertips to the scorched marks radiating across the table stopping an inch from the edge all around. “If he’d succeeded, there’d been no turning back. If the tendrils of that spell had left the table and reached one of you…” She shook her head.

A Witch’s Quandary – New Release- #MFRWHooks
Yippee!! Celebrating the new release of A WITCH’S QUANDARY my paranormal romance/mystery. WooHoo! ! A Broken Engagement leads to the discovery of stolen magic and malice. Can they weather the storm and find a future together?
Pull up a chair and get comfy, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about A WITCH’S QUANDARY, sixth book in A Demon’s Witch Series (all books in the series can be read as a stand alone).
What is A WITCH’S QUANDARY all about.
Secondary character, Gale, popped into A Magic Redemption (5th book in A Demon’s Witch Series) the niece of powerful witch, Erin, and her husband King of the Faries, Tiarnan, in Ireland. She had an established apothecary business when she met Dillon from a prestigious family in Scotland. He is the son of the head of a prominent law firm in Scotland that had stood for over 100 years. Reputation impeccable. But treachery and desire for power undermined the family’s long standing firm. How could I not tell her story? That’s how A Witch’s Quandary came to be.
Gale’s engagement is off because she refuses to leave her thriving business in Ireland to follow Dillon to Scotland. Her family and friends are on the emerald isle. Yet, when Dillon returns with the whole story and asks for her help, she must follow her heart.

Sneak peek between the pages of A Witch’s Quandary:
Inside the shop, Gale watched and listened to the exchange of her friends, hoping they’d just leave. She wasn’t ready to face them. This morning, her mirror had revealed dark circles under her normally bright green eyes and skin puffy from tears. How can I explain? I’m still not sure I made the right decision. But my livelihood depends on my opening the shop. I’ve got to face everyone some time. Might as well…
“I think she’s in there.” Cori cupped her hands around her face, pressed her nose to the glass, and tried to peer in the crack between the shade and the window where sunlight streamed in and spread across the polished but dusty hardwood floor. A shadow loomed over the end of the sunny stream.
She stepped back out of the stream of sunlight—too late.
Bridget knocked on the window. “Hey Gale, we can see you. Whatever it is, your secret is safe with us.” She rapped on the window harder this time.
Bells tinkled, after a creak and a groan, the door opened a crack. She unlocked the chain that allowed only a three-inch opening. “Been ill. Don’t feel like company.”
Bridget barreled through, knocking her aside, and shoved the door open wide. The other women cautiously followed in their friend’s wake. Never one for mincing words, her friend narrowed her eyes and stared. “What the hell is up with you?” Bridget paused in the center of the dismal showroom and glanced around, then returned her penetrating gaze to Gale.
Synn remained stuck in place, appalled at Bridget’s lack of decorum. “Gale, we were worried about you.”
“We’ve been friends for years. Never a secret between us. I’ve never known you to even have the sniffles. Now out with it.” Bridget paced hands on hips, eyes narrowed sizing up her friend. “Heard Dillon went back to Scotland last week. Is that what this is all about?”
Gale blew out a breath and flipped her long ginger braid over her shoulder. I should have known better than to keep this from my friends. “Anyone want tea besides me?”
“I wish I had time,” Cori began. “But I really need the rose lotion you fixed up for me. I’m out, and Amos tossed my alternate lotion. Said it stunk.”
In spite of herself, she giggled. “Men can be so…pig-headed, stubborn, and unappreciative.” She shuffled behind the counter, slid open a mirrored case, and took out a large bottle of creamy pink lotion. Reaching for a smaller bottle in the lower cupboard, she poured a quarter of the contents from the larger into the smaller decorative bottle. “There, that should hold you. I keep a supply of your lotion on hand. It’s popular.” She screwed the cap back on the big bottle and returned it to the case. “Here you go.” Handing the smaller bottle to Cori, she smiled. “Sorry to cause a problem.”
Cori handed her payment and took the bottle. “No problem. I was worried when you were closed for so long.” She took the top off the bottle and sniffed. “Perfect.” Spilling lotion into her hand, she offered the others a dab, then rubbed it into her own hands. “Gotta go. Thank you so much.” She nudged Bridget with her elbow, whispering, “I’ll call tonight to get the scoop.”
“I’m standing right here, Cori.” She fisted a hand on her hip. “Dillon left me. Okay. That’s the scoop.”
“What?” the women cried in unison.
“Well, you can never trust a Scotsman.” Bridget flounced across the floor to wrap an arm around her.
. So…” Gale waved her hand toward the corner of her showroom. A straw broom with a black handle of embedded glittering gems slid neatly out of the corner onto the floor and began sweeping with wide strokes.
Synn narrowed her eyes and continued to stare suspiciously at her friend. “Is that the way of it?”
