Breaking the curse is only the first step to forever.

Daylan, a warlock, is being haunted, but what the ghost wants is a mystery. His magical powers bring him no closer to an answer—until he encounters Josie, a Yoga instructor.

But when she is kidnapped by an ancient Fae Warrior set on revenge Daylan must rescue her before the rogue claims her as his own. During his quest, his world spirals out of control, and a devastating curse comes to light. Could the ghost hold the answers he needs?

Can he break the age-old curse to save Josie and their future, or will Daylan lose her forever?

A sneak peak between the pages of Charm Me Again!

Suddenly the wind increased and changed direction bringing a cold chill to the warm day. She tugged her sweater close around her as a thin maroon line formed along the flat bottom of a dark, boiling cloud spreading across the sky. Moments before there’d been only an occasional fluffy white cloud floating in the bright blue sky. Oh, no, not again.

The line slowly drifted to vertical and spread open to reveal a sparkling interior. Four striking creatures, sharp-angled features with fierce expressions on their inhumanly handsome faces appeared. Gleaming swords hung at their sides as they slipped out of the cloud and stepped onto the ground not more than fifty feet from her and Daylan along the tree line of the property. Holy shit. This can’t be happening.

She rubbed her eyes but when she opened them the men were still there. Dressed in heavy boots, jeans, and formfitting leather vests, shimmering silver bands adorned their muscular upper arms. Two of them had thick shoulder length blond hair, the others had jet black hair hanging in waves past their shoulders.

She jumped up and opened her mouth to scream. But Daylan reacted faster clapping his hand over her mouth while still facing the advancing creatures. To her surprise, a soft giggle escaped from her lips. They look like a group of medieval bikers. Their apparent leader, his reddish sable hair hung well beyond his shoulders in waves, paused a few yards in front of them.

The others flanked the leader in a V formation. Her heart beat a tattoo against her chest. The vision taking place in front of her wavered and spun. I will not pass out. I will not faint. I absolutely will not. She pried Daylan’s hand away and sucked in a deep breath then blew it out slowly.

The wind settled down to a light breeze that flipped strands of her hair over her face and eyes. Raising a hand, she brushed the hair out of her face and licked her lips nervously.

In the distance a door banged, a dog growled, then eerie silence prevailed.

“You can see the Fae, the cloud, and feel the change in temperature?” Daylan whispered, his voice tinged with surprise.

Everything snapped into focus and she nodded her eyes went wide. “Fae?” I’ve lost it. This isn’t happening. For god sakes one of them has a pointed ear sticking through his hair. Catching movement out of the corner of her eye, Devlin, Summer, and Piper joined them. Piper remained behind Summer, voicing her displeasure in low menacing growls.

Holiday Extravaganza Feature –

Twinkle Bright – Elves Secret Santa

Direct from the North Pole, welcome to the Elves Secret Santa party! Here at the North Pole it’s extremely busy, but we still have time for a little holiday fun and shenanigans.

Let me introduce myself.  I’m an elf and my name is Twinkle Bright because my elf hat has twinkle lights wound all around the scalloped edge and the pointy top.

I make yummy Hot Chocolate for Santa and the elves from a secret family recipe passed down from generation to generation. My hot chocolate keeps everyone warm and toasty inside at the North Pole. There is even an automatic dispenser in Santa’s Sleigh providing him with hot chocolate during his travels on Christmas Eve.  It goes good with the cookies the children leave for him.

While I am mixing up large batches of hot chocolate, I listen to Christmas Carols from a variety of pop, country and rock artists. I always taste each batch to insure it’s up to elf standards. .  You would think I’d get tired of hot chocolate, but no — never.  I love the steaming chocolaty drink.  I usually keep mine in an insulated mug so it stays warm while sampling the cookies in the elves’ bakery.  Frosted sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies are my absolute favorites.

Now, I’m going to let you in on a little secret.  But you must promise not to tell…anyone.

We do a secret Santa gift exchange around here and this year I got Bob, her job at the North Pole is name checker to make sure Santa has all the correct spellings of the girls and boys. One year she spelled Chrys’ name Chris and wow what an uproar.

Luckily Santa caught it, but we had to rush to change all the tags on her packages. Whew!

I’m getting Elf Bobi a package of 120 different color markers in a jewel encrusted case for marking off the correctly spelled names after she checks them.

Do you think she’ll like that?

Do you like fudge?  Great, I’ll share with you my favorite Fantasy Fudge Recipe.

3 cups of sugar

3/4 cup butter

1 –  5 oz can of evaporated milk (do not use sweetened condensed milk)

1 – 12 oz package semi sweet chocolate chips

1 – 7 oz jar marshmallow cream

1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

You may add chopped nuts if you wish

Bring sugar, butter and evaporated milk to a full rolling boil in a large saucepan over medium heat, stir constantly

Cook for four minutes or until a candy thermometer reaches 234 degrees.

High altitude takes about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and marshmallow cream, stir until melted.

Add vanilla and nuts. Stir until blended.

Pour into a greased 9×13 pan, spread evenly.

Cool completely and cut into squares.

#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge Book Boyfriend or Girlfriend

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge December 4, 2019, Book Boyfriend or Girlfriend This was another difficult topic, so many book boyfriends so little time, but I finally narrowed it down to a few.

Let’s start with –Troublemaker by Linda Howard. Book Boyfriend  Morgan Yancy, an operative and team leader in a paramilitary group. Loved his character and his interactions with the heroine and her dog.

The Witness by Nora Roberts. Book boyfriend would be The  police chief Brooks Gleason is a laid back law man with a hippy mother. I found Brooks characteristics to be fun and sexy.

The Very Thought of You by Claire Marti – In this one book boyfriend would be Jake Cruz. Yeah he was a hunky fireman with a soft spot for animals. Do we see a pattern forming here? LOL

And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention A Demon’s Witch. Yeah it’s my own book, in fact my debut novel back in 2015. But the hero, Bruce is just to smoking hot to ignore.  Keeping a lid on all the paranormal beings inhabiting Washington D.C., is a daunting job. Bruce, a six hundred year old demon and the Territory Overlord of the Western Hemisphere, keeps his finger on the pulse of DC’s power players through the activities at his highly successful Wycked Hair Salon. His movie star good looks and body builder physique keeps his dance card full and the rumor mills running.  Within these walls, his anonymity is safe, mostly.
Pssst…. I’ll let you in on a little secret… Shhh… I modeled him after my own real life hero I’ve been married to for many moons.  Just don’t tell anyone. Okay?

Alas, I need to get back to my writing cave where deadlines loom, so let’s see what other authors list as their Book Boyfriends or Book Girlfriends. L&SR

As his attraction blooms for Josie, a yoga instructor in his sister’s studio, he realizes there may be more to Josie than he can imagine. When an ancient rogue Fae Warrior set on revenge kidnaps her in an attempt to claim her as his own, a devastating curse comes to light.

#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge Books that Influenced My Life

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge November 27, 2019, Books that Influenced My Life. I had to think long and hard about this topic but finally came up with a few.  First, I want to announce the winner of my $10.00 amazon gift card from last week’s Charm Me Again new release celebration. <drum roll> Marianne Arkins.  Marianne, please contact me via email. Congratulations! Now on with my list of Books that Influenced My Life:

Let’s start with – Your Erroneous Zones by Wayne W. Dyer. Step by step advice for escaping the trap  of negative thinking & taking control of your life. Yeah I know it was published back in 1991, but the  premise of the book still holds true today. I admit that some days the trap catches me, but I do my best to avoid it. Making me a much happier person most of the time.

This is going to sound odd, but bear with me. Stephanie Myers vampire books influenced me to take writing and publishing seriously. It was after reading the Twilight series, I decided I’d polish my own manuscripts and actually look for a publishing house. Now mind you, I’ve written stories for as long as I can remember. But as with most people life got in the way. Now I’m not saying that if she could get published…. so could…. well you get the drift.  During that time, other events in my life confirmed it was time to live my dream. Five years and ten books later, I’m still pinching myself to make sure it’s all real.

It was through Deborah Harkness’s books, ie Discover of Witches, that I found out I really did enjoy a well written historical fiction. Of course it still had to have magic in it. LOL Up until those books, I wasn’t remotely interested. So I guess you’d say she influenced me to give historical fiction a try. The second book in her series, Shadow of Night took place in 16th century London during the Elizabethan era.  I truly enjoyed the book from the descriptions to the character’s actions.

I must be hard to influence as those are the only Books that Influenced My Life and come to mind.  I’m sure there must be more, but…

Alas, I need to get back to my writing cave where deadlines loom, so let’s see what books the other authors in this blog challenge claim influenced their lives L&SR

#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s blog Challenge 11-6-19 Books I’ve Recommended & Why

Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge November 6, 2019, Books I’ve Recommended & Why. It’s is a long list so lets get started in no particular order.

1.  Molly Harper. If you’ve read this blog much you’ll find that I recommend all her paranormal books and a few of her  contemporary ones. She is a talented writer, worked for six years as a reporter and humor columnist for The Paducah Sun.  She is best known for her Nice Girls vampire series and Naked Werewolf series.  Harper is well-known for her success in audiobooks. Her pairing with voice actress Amanda Ronconi has made her a “legendary pairing” at Audible. Check out her Mystic Bayou series on Audible. Yep, I have them all.

2.  Linda Howard.  Trouble Maker is a delicious book where the four pawed character takes front and center mixed with a yummy black ops hero and a strong sassy heroine. The tale continues with A Woman Left Behind.  For animal lovers Troublemaker is a must read. Her delivery and humor is entertaining.

 3. Deborah Harkness – Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night and Tree of life are well written tales of vampires, witches and nearly anything in between. Her historical accounts of Victorian London are great and I don’t usually care for historical. But  I truly enjoyed walking though the city with Deborah’s descriptions and lively characters. I believe you would too.

4. Dan Brown – Yeah he’s a little different from my usual reading preference. Still his characters and descriptions make you feel part of the story. Figuring out the puzzles he creates is one of the reasons I read his books.

5. Ernest Cline – Ready Player One and Armada –  Ready Player One – Again not my usual book preference, but exciting just the same.  Sci-Fi with an intriguing plot for gamers. These deal with gaming skills and  knowledge of 1980s pop-culture trivia to find clues left by billionaire James Halliday. I love the world he created and the unlikely heros and heroines he created.

Armada is a surprising thriller, a coming-of-age adventure, and an alien invasion tale like nothing you’ve ever read before.  The audio books are fantastic narrated by Wil Wheaton.

6. Nora Roberts – The Witness and O’Dwyer Trilogy are a couple of my favorite books.  I’m not so much a fan of her Contemporary Romances as I am her paranormal ones listed.  I guess contemporary for me is ordinary. I want to be entertained with magic, mob bosses and things like that. LOL

 7.  The Harry Potter Series.  What’s not to like, a school for wizards, magic and friendships. I have to admit that the first book, The Sorcerers  Stone is still my favorite.  Love when he gets his letter, the lengths the Dursleys go to in order to avoid him getting it, and the snake scene when the glass disappears and Dudley falls through. I laugh every time.  Lets face it this series changed the landscape of writing. Young and old enjoy Harry Potter! Right?

8. So tell me what books have you recommended and why.  Please list them in the comments.

Alas, I need to get back to my writing cave where deadlines loom, so let’s see what the other authors in this blog challenge claim as to what scares them. L&SR
