A sneak peek between the pages of Pride of Brothers: Aiden
Were you close with your sister?” Aiden asked.
Not the way we should have been. Not at the end.
“We had a sizable age difference between us. Almost ten years. I was the big sis. The oldest.” Her lips trembled when she pulled them into a sad line. Rolling her eyes she added, “The bossy one, according to her. She was the baby and took full advantage of her status from the moment she realized it.”
“And rightly so.” The corners of his eyes crinkled. “I’m the youngest of my brothers and I’ll can tell you with one hundred percent honesty, my oldest brother is the bossiest one of us. I think it comes with birth order. Although he takes his so called right uber-seriously. Especially at work.”
This time her grin was steadier. “What kind of business do you all own together?”
“We a run a private security company.”
“Security?”
“Personal bodyguards, if a client needs protection from something. Background checks for employers. Mostly we do investigations.”
“What, like private eyes? Like on television?”
He laughed. “Nothing so glamorous. The fast cars and hot babes are all fantasy. It’s a lot of boring research, computer work, and surveillance, but yeah, you could say I’m a private eye.”
Lexi’s entire mood turned on his words. The sorrow flew, the hurt dissolved. Even her nervous trivia-speak went dormant. She sat bolt upright, her knees bumping against the tabletop when she shifted. Excitement shot from her system as she turned her body, placed a hand across his forearm and declared, “Oh, my God. You’re the answer to my prayers.”

About the Author:
Peggy Jaeger writes contemporary romances and rom coms about strong women, the families who support them, and the men who can’t live without them.
Family and food play huge roles in Peggy’s stories because she believes there is nothing that holds a family structure together like sharing a meal…or two…or ten. Dotted with humor and characters that are as real as they are loving, Peggy brings all aspects of life into her stories: life, death, sibling rivalry, illness, and the desire for everyone to find their own happily ever after. Growing up the only child of divorced parents she longed for sisters, brothers and a family that vowed to stick together no matter what came their way. Through her books, she has created the families she wanted as that lonely child.
As a lifelong diarist, she caught the blogging bug early on, and you can visit her at peggyjaeger.com where she blogs daily about life, writing, and stuff that makes her go “What??!”

Better Together in Boston by Jennifer Wilck

Thanks so much, Tena, for letting me be a guest on your blog today.
My latest book, Better Together in Boston, releases today! It’s a contemporary romance that is part of a multi-author series, Ticket to True Love. This is the second book that I’ve written for the series, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the series.
So, how did this come about? Well, I’m a member of the New Jersey chapter of RWA, and through my local chapter, I’ve met many talented writers, many of whom I’m friends with on Facebook. A few of them were putting together a multi-author series, and they were looking to diversify their books and authors. Because some of my books are written with Jewish characters and include Jewish traditions (I’m Jewish), they asked me if I’d like to join them. After getting over the surprise of being asked and doing some research into what would be involved, I happily said yes.
While each book is different and can be read on its own—there are at least 18 of them at last count—all of the books have a few things in common. One, they follow the “Legend of True Springs.” That legend says that the town of True Springs has a spring, and if you drink the water, you fall in love. My author friends even created a book about the legend, which is really cool. And the characters have to drink the water in some fashion. Two, is that each book has to have a ticket of some sort, and when the hero and heroine touch the ticket, there is a spark of attraction that zings between them. It can be any kind of ticket but it has to be there.
For Better Together in Boston, my characters meet at the wedding of their cousin/best friends (the hero and heroine from my first book, Whispers in Washington). Ben is the groom’s cousin and best man. Anna is the bride’s best friend and maid of honor. I had the wedding take place in True Springs, and bottles of the magic water were everywhere. Ben is a huge believer; Anna is not. She tries to avoid the water, and as a result, gets drunk (if you don’t drink the water, you’re going to have to drink the wine). Ben helps her back to her room, and even though he’s attracted to her, doesn’t want to do anything while she’s not fully in control of herself. Anna thinks he’s hot, and even though she doesn’t believe in relationships or marriage, tries to start something with him in her drunken state. Of course, he refuses, because he’s a good guy, but oh, the struggle! The next morning, Anna leaves without saying goodbye—she’s mortified—and Ben finds her earring. He follows her back to Boston to return it. They spend the day together and go to a baseball game—cue the ticket. And well, you’ll have to read the rest to find out what happens, see Anna struggle against falling in love, and Ben try to convince her he’s worth rearranging her plans. If you like strong, independent heroines, sexy heroes, witty banter, and a hint of magic—plus hot chemistry and a little Jewish flavor for texture—you’ll like the book.
What I like about participating in a multi-author series is that you get the benefit of the other authors. Everyone advertises and markets for each other. All the covers are cohesive. I have a built in group of people I can talk to if I’m stuck on something—whether it’s a plot point or my blurb or whatever—and there is overlap in all of our books because of the common legend. Some of the inhabitants of the small town of True Springs feature in several of the books, so it’s a little like coming home when you read them. There are, of course, challenges to working with a group as well. You have to make sure to get the details right. That’s why we have a bible of True Springs and any time you mention part of the town, you add it to the bible so everyone keeps the names, places, and descriptions consistent. Plus, people’s schedules get busy and sometimes you have to juggle things to accommodate others. Still, I was flattered to be asked, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
Tell us a little about Better Together in Boston
Do you believe in the legend of True Springs?
Mr. Right doesn’t exist…
Anna Levinson was raised by a single mother, who sacrificed her dreams to give her daughter a warm, loving home. Now a respected professor on the tenure track, Anna is driven to live the life she thinks her mother should have had. She’s long since come to terms with the understanding that “having it all” is impossible if she wants a successful career.
He’s been told he’s Mr. Wrong more times than he can count…
Despite being left at the altar twice, Ben Diamond still believes his soul mate is out there. He’s ready to marry and start a family of his own. He just clearly won’t recognize her when he does find her. And then he meets the maid of honor at his cousin’s wedding, and his world is thrown off kilter.
Settling down might be more than they bargained for.
A long-distance relationship isn’t what either of them has in mind, and Anna isn’t about to ruin another person’s dreams. However, giving each other up is harder than it looks. Can Ben convince Anna that she’s got him all wrong, and that he’s finally gotten it right?

Sneak peek between the pages of Better Together in Boston!
“Would you like a drink of water?” he asked. “Or would you be more comfortable sitting on the chair over there?” He pointed to the window, next to which was a blue upholstered chair.
“You’re my drink of water.” She pulled his head down to her.
She kissed him, her lips soft, tongue plundering inside when he opened his mouth in shock. He needed to stop this, even as his body responded. Desire and honor warred with each other as heat bloomed. Her hands wrapped around the back of his neck, sending shivers down his spine. She was sweet, tasting of champagne and grapes. Her perfume was elusive, but there, and he pulled her closer, breathing her in. A breathy moan made him pause. He couldn’t do this. Since she wasn’t thinking straight, one of them needed to.
“Anna.” He groaned and unwrapped her arms from around his neck. “I think you’d be more comfortable over there.” He pointed to the chair. He’d certainly be less tempted.
“No, I’d be more comfortable with you.” She pulled his shirt until he had no choice but to lean down.
Her hair, thick and soft, had come undone. Despite his better judgment, he wrapped a curl around his finger, squeezed and released it, letting it slide against the back of his hand, feather-soft.
“We can’t do this, Anna,” he whispered, even as he became hypersensitive to her touch.
She pulled him close and once again, pressed her lips to his. He tried to push her away, grasping her by the shoulders, and for a moment, he thought he’d finally gotten through to her. She pulled back, before trailing kisses across his jaw and down his neck. With a half moan, half curse, he gave in.

About the Author:
Jennifer started telling herself stories as a little girl when she couldn’t fall asleep at night. Pretty soon, her head was filled with these stories and the characters that populated them. Even as an adult, she thinks about the characters and stories at night before she falls asleep or walking the dog. Eventually, she started writing them down. Her favorite stories to write are those with smart, sassy, independent heroines; handsome, strong and slightly vulnerable heroes; and her stories always end with happily ever after.
In the real world, she’s the mother of two amazing daughters and wife of one of the smartest men she knows. She believes humor is the only way to get through the day and does not believe in sharing her chocolate.
She writes contemporary romance, many of which feature Jewish characters in non-religious settings (#ownvoices). She’s published with The Wild Rose Press and all her books are available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Midnight Acquisition by Jayne York – An Interview
![](https://i0.wp.com/www.tenastetler.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Jayne-York-pic.png?resize=300%2C300&ssl=1)
Jayne tell us what inspired this particular story?
I’ve been a custom jeweler for something like forty years. As you can imagine, the number of customers I’ve worked with during that time is daunting. They all have one thing in common though—each and everyone has a story attached to the project they bring to me. It doesn’t matter if it’s the creation of an engagement ring that starts their story or the restoration of a family piece that’s been lovingly handed down from generation to generation. It’s always a privilege to participate in commemorating their personal legend.
What mistakes have you made and what did you learn from them?
The list of mistakes is too long to compile I’m afraid. The one that sticks out the most prominently comes from a lesson I learned in writing my first book “If Wishes Were Horses”, and that is that you should be very selective when sharing your work. It’s easy to be dissuaded by people who have no real talent for storytelling. Asking random opinions can draw you off your path toward publication. It can dampen your enthusiasm or your spirits, and cause you shove your work under the bed. Always make certain those you ask for an opinion are better writers than you are.
What do you want your readers to take away from your books?
Fearlessness. Take your destiny in your hands and step out of your comfort zone. That’s where life is.
Where do your story ideas come from? If they come to you in the middle of the night, do you get up and write them all down?
My desk, my purse and my phone are littered with “notes to self.” I sleep too soundly to remember brilliant ideas from dreams, but often times while zoning out during long drives I’ll work out plot twists and have to grab my phone to record an idea or pull off the road to furiously jot down the note before it gets lost in the ether.
Okay, you’re casting the movie version of your novel – who would you choose for the main characters? We’re talking dream cast.
Now this one’s simple because I always have an actor in mind when developing a character. I post a pic of them to my desktop to keep their image fresh as I’m picturing them in action in the book.

Tell us a little more about Midnight Acquisition:
Juliette Rochambeau was heartbroken when the boy she loved ran from South Carolina. Fifteen years later, she returns to her hometown to appraise her family’s historic gem-encrusted necklace. Becket Ford is a thief whose regret over leaving Juliette behind tears at his heart. His remorse, however, must take a back seat when a sadistic puppet master forces him to use their connection to steal the necklace or die trying. As they both vie for possession of the priceless jewels, lingering desire and emotion from years ago explode back to life. But escaping a madman and finding a future free of their past may just be a fantasy…
A sneak peek between the pages of Midnight Acquisition:
“Hello, Jules.” His lips quirked up, and she took a hesitant step toward him as if he’d pulled on an invisible thread. A swarm of bees erupted in her chest. He stood, and she couldn’t help herself; she took him in from hair to soft leather loafers. Their gazes locked. His startling gray eyes should have been cool given the color, but the emotion swimming in their depths held her fixed in place. Riveted. The silvery center rimmed in a blue so dark it was nearly black, and thick lashes, a lush sable brown like the roots of his hair. This Beck was as familiar as home and at the same time different as night from day. Gone was the boyish promise of good looks, and in its place, a devastatingly handsome man. The shoulders she used to love were broader, his waist honed. The flat stomach she’d caressed with curious, questing fingers was now an impressive six-pack of muscle revealed by the cling of his T-shirt. His chest, when he drew in a deep breath, strained the white fabric. Her body seemed to disconnect from her mind, and the power of speech deserted her. When she finally mustered the wherewithal to reply, her voice resembled the grate of a rusty screen door. “What are you doing here?” She cleared her throat. “I mean, hello yourself. I didn’t know you were back in Charleston.” She fought the urge to sling herself across the distance and jump into his arms. Her fists clenched to drag back control. Pull yourself together, Juliette. He trashed your stupid heart and didn’t think twice.

About the author:
I can’t resist the call of a great story. As the child of a world-class machinist and a frustrated artist, I learned early on the joy of creating handcrafted jewelry. Each piece, like every customer, has its own tale to tell. You’ll find them, collected like pearls in a strand, inside my steamy contemporary romance and edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense novels. Like my one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, the heroines in my books are rare, desirable and priceless.
