#L&SR’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge

Welcome to #L&SR’s Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge September 16, 2020, Book with the most words I had to look up!  Oh this is a tough one.  Please have a seat, grab an iced tea or lemonade out of the cooler. Be sure and try a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie.

I have thought and thought until I think my brain short circuited. I have always been a voracious reader of all genres, except horror (gives me nightmares). During my childhood, my mother and I played a game with the dictionary in an effort to stump each other as to words meanings.  Over the years, we nearly wore out a huge Webster’s Dictionary (I still have it). Yes I concede I was a strange child. LOL So rarely do I come across words I don’t know.  A few science fiction early on gave me fits, but not any more. So this is going to be a short post.  Finally I decided it would have to be SHADOW OF NIGHT, by Deborah Harkness. It’s the second book in the Tree of Life series. set in a historical time period that I am unfamiliar with (Elizabethan England) so some words and phrases were strange to me. I loved the book and learned a lot about England in the 1590’s.  I wouldn’t like to have lived during that time. LOL

Alas, I must return to my writing cave  where deadlines loom preparing promo on my upcoming release HIDDEN GYPSY MAGIC September 28, 2020 .  Stay tuned! Chocolate Raspberry Magic release date been extended until April 2021. And I’m working on a new WIP sixth book in A Demon’s Witch Series(very exciting and coming along nicely)  AND a new project is simmering  Wylder West Assignment. Keep an eye out for more information.  Now  let’s see what other authors list as book with the most words they had to look up.  L&SR

A sneak peek at Hidden Gypsy Magic:

Discover the consequences of awakening hidden Gypsy magic!

The Salem Wildlife Sanctuary is Gwen Taylor’s life work.  Her Irish Gypsy heritage provides a hidden talent she uses to help the creatures under her care.  But even her magical skills can’t help new rescues in dire need of veterinary care.

The opportunity of signing on as the vet for Gwen’s sanctuary dropped into Brock Scutter’s lap after he expanded his practice to include wildlife. The personal attraction he and Gwen experience is undeniable the more their professional and personal lives collide.

Touring the only “non-haunted” house in Salem they both feel a spark of magic.  A trip to his family’s cabin uncovers a heritage he didn’t know existed.  If they want a future together, it means facing the consequences of awakening hidden Gypsy magic and a race against the clock to correct past wrongs.

Thanks for popping in. I really appreciate it. Next week, September 23, 2020, can you believe it? Autumn is nearly here. Anyway next week’s blogging challenge topic is favorite things to do in the autumn. That will be easy.  Autumn is my favorite time of year! Love Halloween! Until then have fun, stay safe, and never let the world get you down!

Romance Authors – Favorites #L&SR #Wednesday Blog Challenge 7.10.19

Welcome to L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 7-10-19. My favorite Romance Authors.

Romance would not be what it is without NORA ROBERTS. She’s written over two hundred twenty-five Romances over the years. From Contemporary to Paranormal Romance she’s covered it all. I’d be amiss if I didn’t mention her alter ego JD Robb, who has more than a few books under her belt as well.  Yep, she can head hop with the best of them, but then… she’s Nora Roberts.

Another favorite Romance author of mine would be Molly Harper. Her snark and hilarious situations make her stand out from the crowd. I love her quick wit and wonderful characters.”Snarky romance with bite, is her own description.”  More than once, I’ve been red faced because I laughed out loud in a public place while reading her books.  I just hold up the book and say, you need to read this and return to reading. Yep, no shame! LOL

Because I don’t want to bore you with my long, long, long list of favorite Romance authors, I’ll end with Deborah Harkness and her Discovery of Witches. I love this series that has been turned into a TV series.  I’ve binge watched the entire series three times and read the books to many time to count. I can’t wait for season two to come out on TV.

Well there you have it. Favorite Authors in Romance Genre. These are just a few of the great authors writing Romance. I could go on and on, but, I need to get back to my WIP, so let’s see what the other authors in this blog challenge claim as their favorite Authors: L&SR

Characters #L&SR #WednesdayBlogChallenge 3.20.19

Today’s prompt is Characters I want to meet.

Hands down the first character would be Matthew Clairmont in the Discovery of Witches – All Souls Trilogy. If you’ve not read these books I highly recommend them. They have also been made into a TV series that I love!

Matthew is the vampire that watches Diana Bishop, a witch in the Bodleian Library in Oxford University after hearing rumors she had called out a particular bewitched manuscript at Mabon.

He studies genetics, a subject I’ve always been interested in. My question to him would be what has he discovered about the genetic basis of creatures as part of the human evolution?  Also I’m dying to know if Chris Roberts  has the hots for Miriam both characters from Discovery of Witches.  LOL

Don’t discount Dianna Bishop the heroine, She is a strong, determined and loyal character with a great intellect. I’d love to ask her about science vs magic and her alchemy experiment with the tree of life.

I’m also a huge fan of Molly Harper and her werewolf series, How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf, How to Run with a Naked Werewolf, and The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf.

Character Mo Wenstein, heroine, is a southern transplant to Alaska where she meets Alpha Cooper Graham in How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf.  She is funny, a great cook despite her hippy parents which is one of the reasons she’s in Alaska and she has a over abundance of snark. What I want to know is how does she make those chocolate chess squares? Yummy! Speaking of yummy how about that hunky werewolf, Cooper?

I could go on for hours!

Okay. twist my arm, one more would be Lori Shepard from Nancy Atherton’s Aunt Dimity Series. I’ve followed her from when she first inherited a cottage and trust from Aunt Dimity to her wedding, the birth of her children, settling in a quaint little village of Finch in England and all her adventures thereafter. I want to know how she juggles motherhood, wife to a lawyer, keeps up with the gossip in finch and still has time for wonderful adventures. LOL

These are a few of my favorite characters that I would love to meet.  If you have a moment, tell me in the comments about a character you’d love to meet. Let’s see who the other authors in this challenge want to meet, shall we? Click here: Long and Short WednesdayBlog Challenge. Have a great rest of your week.
