A little about A Witch’s Journey:
Pepper McKay comes from a long line of powerful witches. Unfortunately, magic brings her nothing but trouble. She learned the love of wildlife rescue and rehab from her Aunt Ashling. After graduating from college, Pepper works for Salem Wildlife Sanctuary and lives from paycheck to paycheck until she inherits the McKay property in Lobster Cove. Lathen Quartz, a former Navy SEAL turned handyman maintains the enchanted McKay property for the McKay estate. But someone is trying to steal the McKay magic. But each harbors a deep, dark secret. Will they overcome their demons and give love a chance?
A peek between the pages of A Witch’s Journey! The hook.
At dusk, the mist rolled in, but it didn’t dampen the revelers’ enthusiasm. Pepper and Lathen followed the crowd over to the harbor where several boats were lined up and decorated with different kinds of patriotic colored lights. A variety of bulbs burned steady, while others flashed, chased, and twinkled. One pleasure craft had a flag draped over the bow made up of red, white, and blue lights that blinked in time to “The Star Spangled Banner” playing in the background.
After casting votes for the best display, they returned to Lathen’s pickup and drove the short distance to the Sea Crest Inn, where everyone gathered for an ice cream social to benefit local charities. Local bands presented the entertainment for the evening. Music ranged from country to rock and roll, and even a group that did a respectable job on the 1812 Overture as the spectacular fireworks display exploded in the night sky.
Suddenly, cold shiver ran up her spine as goose bumps crept up her arms. Pepper reached down to untie her sweater from her waist, and someone grabbed her around the middle and covered her mouth with a hand. Excruciating pain exploded through her temples. Instinctively, she sank her front teeth into the palm of the hand covering her mouth. He cursed and shook his hand free. She screamed, stomped backward grinding her heel onto his foot, then whirled around, elbows out and connected with the bridge of his nose. A split second later, she shoved her knee up hard into his groin. Blood spurting from his nostrils, hands cupping the family jewels, he yelled a stream of curses as he hit the ground and curled into a fetal possession. A big burly man, pounced on the attacker, yanked his arms behind his back and pressed a knee to his ass as the attacker writhed in pain.
The burly man glanced up at Pepper. “You all right?”
Bent over at the waist, forearms resting on her thighs, palms together, she gulped in air and said haltingly, “I’m ok. Thanks.” As she battled to keep the magic furor at bay, her hands tingled, she shook them out and clasped them tight together. Can’t release magic among mortals.
Pepper’s scream brought Lathen bounding through the crowd, just as Pepper landed the final blow and Sven, the big burly man subdued Tom Green,

“Don’t touch that,” he barked. It was too late.
Her fingers stroked the rusted padlock. It sprang open. Puffs of dried soil sprinkled the carpet around the chest. He placed a restraining hand on her arm just as she tentatively dug her fingers into the soil. “This isn’t from your land. It’s —.” A swirl of colors sucked them in and a feeling of weightlessness surrounded her. She grabbed a hold of Sil’s arm. Then suddenly they were back inside the wagon.
Only something was amiss, the silence, the earthy smell wasn’t right. She shivered. What have I done? Taking a deep breath, she whirled around to face Sil.
“What the hell just happened?”
He shrugged. “You promised not to touch a thing. Lets get out of here.” Reaching for the vardo’s handle, he pushed down and the door opened into a small barn. He strode to the door, tugging Mercy along with him. When he shoved it open moonlight spread across an open field casting silvery shadows through the bordering trees. Off in the distance stood a ramshackle cabin.
A warm breeze swept her hair across her face. She stared unblinking. Nothing about the landscape was familiar except the stands of young trees. She bent as if to touch the soil.
His arm flew out and prevented her from reaching the ground. “Its true,” he murmured surveying the area. His lips set in a thin line, he rubbed his temples and stared. Mocking her. “I won’t touch a thing. Well… you did and now… we are not when we were.”
“Now what?” she whispered.
He sucked in a breath. With his hand at the small of her back, he urged her up the stairs of the vardo.”I think we better go back inside and talk.”

A Warlock’s Secrets #MFRWhooks
This week. #MFRWhooks is the award winning A Warlock’s Secrets. In his darkest hours she is dragged into his magical world. If they survive, is she strong enough to heal his heart and tame the warlock? Or will their secrets destroy them?
A Warlock’s Secrets was not a planned book in the Demon’s Witch series. It was originally a three books series. After publishing the first book in the series, A Demon’s Witch, many readers and reviewers wanted or assumed that Tristian’s story would be next. In truth, I’d never considered writing his story. He was the Demon Overlords enforcer/assassin, for heaven’s sake. But I listened to my readers and wrote A Warlock’s Secrets before the rest of the books in the series. The hardest part of writing this book was wrapping my head around who Tristian really was and what he really wanted out of life. He challenged me at every turn of the story. The underlying message is Tristian has a strong moral compasses even though he works as the Demon Overlord’s Enforcer/Assassin. He basically is the paranormal police for the Western Hemisphere. Enforcement is necessary to keep a balance between mortals and creatures which he learned young due to the death of his parents and having to raise his little sister.
So pull up a chair and get comfy, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about A Warlock’s Secrets!
A peek between the pages of A Warlock’s Secrets: The hook.
Years ago, a sacred ceremony at the Dragon’s Moon Coven turned deadly. Son of the high priestess, Tristian Shandie’s life changed forever. With a price on his head and revenge in his heart, he has no choice but to follow in his father’s footsteps to a profession shrouded in secrets. Now his skills as an enforcer for the Demon Overlord are second to none. But dangerous secrets he harbors are a liability he can no longer afford.
A chance meeting with a woman he finds irresistible flips Tristian’s world upside down. Hannah is a cyber security specialist with secrets of her own. Bad boys never appealed to her until Tristian, who changes everything. In his darkest hours, she is dragged into his magical world.
If they survive, is she strong enough to heal his heart and tame the warlock? Or will their secrets destroy them?
A little more about A Warlock’s Secrets!
Inside the house, a shadow passed by the huge bay window. She held her breath. Am I really going to go through with this?
Walking up the steps to the house, she paused. Why would he leave such an expensive car sitting out when he had a four-car garage? She was stalling. Straightening her shoulder’s she used the brass doorknocker. There was no answer. She knocked again.
The heavy oak door creaked open. Tristian stood shirtless, his abs rippled as he raised one muscular arm to lean on the doorframe. The skintight blue jeans hung low on his hips and his hair tousled as if he’d not been awake long.
When he stared at her, with those huge blue-gray eyes, tingles careened up her spine. She covered her mouth in case drool pooled in the corners her mouth. He was one sexy male. She sucked in a breath and opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. A brow arched, he peered questioningly at her then twisted to glance backward into the house. The sunlight streaming through the doorway accentuated several scars across his chest, rib area and a healed slash across his back. Who gets those kinds of battle scars and lives to tell the tale? Not going to ask. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all.

#L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge -Things I WIsh I Were Better At
Welcome to #L&SR’s #Wednesday’s Blog Challenge 6-3-20, Things I WIsh I Were Better At. Wow this one is easy. so many to choose from. Please have a seat, grab an iced tea or lemonade out of the cooler. Be sure and try a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie. Lets get started with Things I Wish I Were Better At.
Wow, after last week’s topic, this one is another slam dunk. LOL
Patience is not one of my virtues. I wish it was. My life would certainly be a lot smoother.
Painting – I’d love to be able to paint beautiful scenes of wildlife, beaches, mountains, ocean-front beach houses and mountain cabins. Alas, people don’t even recognize my stick figures. Sad. Huh? With a camera I can frame beautiful scenes and I’m thankful for being able to do at least that much. LOL
Talking in front of a group of people. Believe it or not, debate was something I was good at in high school. Unfortunately, speaking in front of a group is a talent that has to be practiced and honed. It’s not like riding a bike. I need more a lot more work in that area.
Keeping a clean house. I love a clean house, but I HATE to clean it.
Keeping my mouth shut and reading over and thinking before I send an email out. I tend to be a bit sharp tongued at times. WIth that, make sure I listen, really listen to what people are saying to me. Means reading between the lines sometimes. LOL
Being a Type A personality and an extravert I tend to be driven in my tasks/goals and don’t relax, take a break as much as I should. Trying to do better, but….
Promotions. For me, it’s like nailing jello to a moving target. Just about the time you think you’ve got a handle on it, poof, it all changes. Frustrating. Last year I ran lots of ads, test markets, various companies, and came up with a viable plan. It’s worked pretty well this year, but…things are changing again. People’s lives have been upended, everything costs more and wages have been lost or at risk. The upside is that families are spending more time together figuring out what’s more important and what comes next.
So there you have it, a few of the many Things I Wish I Were Better At. I’d love to hear from you. Please share your thoughts on things you wish you were better at. Please list them in the comments below.
Alas, I must return to my writing cave where deadlines loom with edits on my upcoming release HIDDEN GYPSY MAGIC and on a new WIP sixth book in A Demon’s Witch Series(very exciting and coming along very well) so let’s see what other authors list Things I WIsh I Were Better At. L&SR

School’s nearly out. Looking an exciting read to whisk you away from your ordinary world into a magical, fantasy adventure in Ireland? Got just the thing. A Magic Redemption. Synn has extraordinary magic and power. Could she really be descended from the elite Guardians Guild made up of magical creatures formed over a millennium ago?
A peek between the pages:
Time seemed to go on forever as she slowed and walked backward for a while, her foot steps in the sand filling with water as she traveled along the shoreline, as if nature erased her intrusion. She turned around and continued her trek. Unaware of how long or how far she’d walked, the sudden outline of a figure, cloaked in the fog, jogging toward her caused panic to set in. Her heart pounded rapidly in her chest, she swallowed hard, adrenalin pumping through her veins as flight or fight response kicked in. Digging her good foot into the sand she prepared to attempt a sprint…to where. Where the hell am I? A quick glance around, she spied a light from a familiar building far off on the bluffs as the figure burst from the fog. A tall, wide-shouldered male with long muscular legs came closer. She froze.
Thanks for popping in. I really appreciate it. Next week, June 10, can you believe it already? Anyway the topic is Favorite poems, short stories, or novellas. Oh boy is that going to be a long list. How about you?
