Steinar by Mary Morgan
Give a warm welcome to Mary Morgan, author of Steinar, Book 3 of the Wolves of Clan Sutherland! just released today!
Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about Mary and Steinar.
Hello, Tena! I’m delighted to be here on the release day of my latest book, Steinar, The Wolves of Clan Sutherland, book 3! Let me share a glimpse behind the scenes of this Viking paranormal romance story.
From the moment I began Steinar and Inga’s love story, I was unprepared for the surprising twists, mysteries, and betrayals while I wove their tale. As an author, I like to plot out my stories. Each chapter has a theme and direction. Yet I found myself constantly arguing with all my characters over various shifts in plots and scenes. When I finally relented months later, the story poured out of me in waves of writing. Steinar and Inga—both sea warriors—took control and led me, the writer, on an epic sea adventure.
I know that feeling. Spent the last year doing the same thing until I relented and the characters had their way. Tell us a little more about Steinar and Inga:
To save the wolf, she must renounce her love for the man.
Descended from the mighty Somerled, Lord of the Isles, Steinar MacDougall’s supremacy over the seas is fierce. On a quest for King William, he is captured by the enemy and presented with a favorable opportunity. Yet Steinar soon realizes his greatest threat comes from the woman who hides behind the mask of a warrior, and the quest for control might send them hurdling into the abyss of the sea.
As leader of the Serpents, Inga the Ruthless travels beyond the isles bartering for goods with her brothers. After rescuing the feared Pirate Wolf during a storm, she surrenders her trust to the man and his inner wolf in order to claim the lost treasure of Odin. Though the journey is fraught with dangers, Inga fears her heart might be the one in peril, leading her to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Will the sea be their salvation or doom them to a watery grave?

Sneak Peek between the pages of Steinar ~
Even with the scent of horses, dung, straw, and leather, Inga’s scent invaded his body. The wildness of the sea hugged the woman, along with another scent—one of flowers. But which one, Steinar could not detect.
He glanced her way. “Why are you here, Inga?”
She rested her head against the forehead of the horse. “To reassure Tove. The sea journey remained long and grueling. Whenever we arrive on land, my duty is to make sure all our horses are adjusting.” Brushing a soft kiss on Tove’s muzzle, she gave one final pat along her mane and strolled back to him.
Steinar clasped his hands behind his back. Thank the Gods she had covered herself with a cloak. His fingers itched to trace a path along the threads woven into the material around the top of her breasts.
When she stood merely inches in front of him, she lifted her gaze to meet his. “You left without sharing a cup of our mead. Why?”
Irritation seeped into his words. “Why do you care? Return to the hall and take the candle you brought with you.”
Confusion shifted within those jeweled eyes and then they hardened. “Did I say I cared? Simply curious. And there is nae threat to the stables with a candle inside a lantern sitting by the entrance. Why is your mood so foul?”
Was it too much to ask to be left alone? To find solace without the intoxicating female clouding his mind and stirring the lustful beast? Control. Harness. Bind the emotions. He had to flee this moment before he did something he’d regret.
Steinar took a step back. “Enjoy your evening, Inga.”
The woman grasped his arm. Her fingers dug into him. A great surge of heat speared throughout his body.
She looked behind him. “I have brought a jug of mead. Would you care to sample a taste?”
“Taste?” Steinar’s mind reeled. By Odin’s blood! What he craved was a taste of those lips.
He swiftly shoved aside the conflict. “Let me sample what you have, Inga.”

Samhain or Halloween?
Give a Spooktacular welcome to Mary Morgan, author of several Celtic medieval and paranormal stories – Order of the Dragon Knights.
Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cauldron. Take your choice of a bat wing Chocolate Chip or Pumpkin, or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about Mary and her Dragon Knights.
My love for this time of year has always held a deep fascination. I begin to feel the tug of the Halloween season in early September. The wind begins to whisper in my ear of the change. Not only do I enjoy the vibrant, colorful, and mystical season, but also the Celtic festival that falls on Halloween. Samhain, the festival celebrated by the ancient Celts marked the dark half of the year between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.
Samhain begins at dusk around October 31st, usually lasting three days. This signified the transition between the year’s lighter and darker halves and was celebrated throughout the ancient Celtic communities of Europe, including Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. These ancient tribes believed the veil between the human and spirit realms was lifted. During this sacred time, many assembled to settle important business matters. Debts were repaid and trials for the more flagrant crimes were held, with justice served out accordingly. Samhain was also considered a favorable time for the druids—a stronger way to connect with the spirit world than usual.
As an author of Celtic medieval and paranormal stories, I’ve woven the season of Samhain heavily in the Order of the Dragon Knights series, beginning with Dragon Knight’s Sword. My love for the season of Samhain encouraged me to incorporate this magical time of year, and the Dragon Knights gave a rousing cheer of approval.
Dragon Knight’s Sword, Order of the Dragon Knights, Book 1
What’s it about your ask:
Duncan Mackay will do anything to lift the curse from his family—even forfeit his own life. Yet his plans change when he encounters the woman from his dreams. She is from the future, somehow has his lost sword, and can talk to the Great Dragon who is able to lift his family’s curse.
Brigid O’Neill has spent her life listening to the mythological legends from Ireland and Scotland. When an ancient sword lands at her doorstep and she starts dreaming of a rugged Highlander, Brigid drops everything and takes on a quest that will alter everything she believes.
Before their journey ends, not only will Duncan and Brigid battle an ancient curse, but they must also find the courage to believe in the destiny that brought them together.
Sneak preview from Dragon Knight’s Sword
As he stood next to the waterfall, beads of water glistened from his dark locks. Brigid watched as they trailed down his chiseled torso, traveling down to where his tartan was wrapped low around his waist. The power coiling within and about him as mystical as the land he stood upon.
“Ancient warrior,” she uttered softly.
When she gazed into his eyes, they smoldered with desire, and it startled her. A delightful shiver of yearning ran through her body. The raw desire to be in this man’s arms, touching and tasting him was so potent that she could feel her heart hammering inside her chest.
He tilted his head to the side as if studying his prey.
Brigid didn’t know if she should run, or step into his massive arms.
He took a step towards her, and her pulse quickened. The very air around her seemed electrified. He then took another…and another until he stood merely inches in front of her.
Her breathing became labored as he bent his head leaning close to her ear. She was engulfed in a sensual haze wanting his lips to touch her anywhere and put an end to her torture. His mouth was so close that she could feel a dark lock of his hair against her cheek, and she shuddered.
“Bring me back my sword,” he growled into her ear.
Brigid’s eyes flew open, her hands clutching the sheets while the last fragments of her dream faded.

Dragon Knights Series Celebration and Sale
Give a warm welcome to Mary Morgan, author of Order of the Dragon Knights Series! Today we are celebrating Mary’s 10th Anniversary with The Wild Rose Press.
Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about Mary and her HOT Dragon Knights.
Hello, Tena! I’m delighted to be on your wonderful blog today to celebrate my 10-year anniversary with The Wild Rose Press! What an epic adventure it has been since I signed my first contract for Dragon Knight’s Sword (Order of the Dragon Knights, Book 1).
Let me share a few teasers why your readers should read the story and series…
10 Reasons You Should Read the Order of the Dragon Knights Series
- In each of the five books in the Order of the Dragon Knights, you journey back in time with my heroines to medieval Scotland and Ireland to find their true destinies. However, in one particular story, the hero will be whisked away to the future after he utters a plea to see his beloved’s face one more time.
- You are introduced to the Fenian Fae Warriors—guardians to the Dragon Knights. Though the knights would argue these warriors are a manipulating, interfering group of Fae and should attend to their own affairs.
- Discover the magic and strength each knight possesses. The Dragon Knights are part human and fae. With their individual powers, they can control the skies, land, water, fire, and shadows.
- In each Dragon Knights’ story, you’ll learn a wee bit about history from ~
Duncan MacKay shares his opinions about the Treaty of Falaise.
Stephen MacKay lives with the monks at Arbroath Abbey in Scotland.
Alastair MacKay sails the seas and trades with merchants on Dunneyneil Island on the northeastern coast of Ireland.
Angus MacKay travels the tournament circuit and arrives in Rouen, France to compete.
Adam MacFhearguis returns to Scotland after fighting in the Crusades.
- You’ll meet five strong, stubborn, and brave women who refuse to hide behind a medieval, and at times, domineering man. Imagine if you were thrust back to 12th century Scotland and found yourself confronted with a Dragon Knight. Would you swoon, fight back, or surrender? Perhaps all three? A mighty challenge for these women.
- Enjoy celebrations with great feasting, specifically one at Midsummer and another at Yule. There’ll be plenty of food and drink, especially good mead.
- Encounter special secondary characters, specifically all sorts of animals—from horses, dogs, falcons, owls, one red fox, and a feisty cat.
- You’ll meet the Great Dragon who dwells in Loch Ness. Her wisdom is vast, and the knights often seek her counsel.
- Witness what happens when the Dragon Knights unleash their inner dragons during the epic final battle against an evil druid.
- A curse or prophecy? You’ll find out the true meaning of this passage that resonates throughout the series. The wording varied a wee bit with each knight:
Across the sea, their destiny awaits.
A love will meet through time and space.
To right a wrong within this place.
Beneath the gate to test their fate.
I hope I’ve tempted you to journey within the pages of these time-travel and paranormal romance stories. For a limited time, Dragon Knight’s Sword is on sale for 99¢ from Amazon. Or collect them all!
Order of the Dragon Knights ~
They were an ancient order, descended from the great Tuatha Dé Danann, the Sidhe, or in simpler terms: the Fae. Half-human and half-fae, each knight blessed with mystical powers. Given to them were holy relics from the Fae and guardianship over their Dragons.
They were known as the Dragon Knights.
However, some believed the Order had too much power and they tried to possess it for themselves. They were evil and twisted, and their plan succeeded one fateful night. The brothers of the Clan MacKay—Dragon Knights, fought a battle. Blood spilled onto holy ground, bringing forth the wrath of the Fae. Their relics were taken, and the Order was banished—each name stricken from the hallowed halls of the Fae.
The Clan MacKay is no longer.
The Dragon Knights have scattered across the land.
Yet out of the darkness, they will each fight for redemption, and the women they love.

Sneak peek between the pages of Wishes Under a Highland Star
“Ready for the battle, Holly King!” bellowed Keegan, displaying his sword in the air.
“For the love of the Goddess,” protested Aine, shaking her head.
“Now?” asked a stunned Alex, watching while others from the castle followed behind the man, each carrying a holly or oak branch.
“Let the man finish his meal before ye condemn him to his death!” she shot back over her shoulder.
Her brother pointed to the newly risen sun with his blade. “First challenge of the day—slay the Holly King and feast with the arrival of the Oak King!”
Alex placed a hand over the hilt of his sword. “Should I be worried?”
“Nae,” drawled Eamon, folding his arms over his chest. “However, one can never tell when Keegan judges the rules require changing.”
“Often to his advantage,” complained Aine, giving her brother a scornful look.
Alex muttered a curse. Unwrapping the bundle in his hand, he took a huge bite of bread and cheese. Shoving the remainder back to Aine, he unsheathed his sword.
Eamon removed the skin attached to his belt. “Here. A swallow of ale before your battle.”
Alex coughed, almost choking on his food. He nodded his thanks while taking the offering. After slaking his thirst, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and promptly returned the ale skin to Eamon.
Keegan approached and tapped the ground with his blade. “Let this challenge to the death begin near the oak tree by the stream. Time for the reign of the Holly King to end.”
A chorus of boisterous voices echoed around them. Eamon waved and shouted for the crowd to follow him along the path to view the battle.
Understanding his demise would be swift, Alex was determined not to die without a good and proper fight. He gestured outward to Keegan. “Lead the way.”
Aine reached for his hand. She gave him a hard squeeze, and then darted a glance at her brother and his group of followers as they ambled toward the stream. “His left arm is the commanding and strongest,” she uttered softly. “He will do his best to draw blood from ye.”
Touched by her concern, Alex lowered his head near her ear. “Ye can kiss my wounds later.”
When he drew back, she rewarded him with a wink before joining the others.
