Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter cookie from the plate, and let’s find out a little about Mary and her HOT Dragon Knights.

Scottish paranormal romance author, Mary Morgan resides in Northern California, with her own knight in shining armor. However, during her travels to Scotland, England, and Ireland, she left a part of her soul in one of these countries and vows to return.
Mary’s passion for books started at an early age along with an overactive imagination. She spent far too much time daydreaming and was told quite often to remove her head from the clouds. It wasn’t until the closure of Borders Books where Mary worked that she found her true calling–writing romance. Now, the worlds she created in her mind are coming to life within her stories.

Tell us what  inspired this particular story?

My inspiration came to me on my first trip to Scotland in the summer of 2000. I was sitting on a boulder in the Highlands one evening, surrounded by the sound of sheep and the mists. The ghosts of long ago reached out to me, and the Dragon Knights were born within my mind.

What secret do you use to blast through writer’s block?

I don’t really get writer’s block, but I’ll go through spurts when I don’t know where the characters are going. If that happens, I’ll go out back to my garden with a leather journal and start writing down ideas or random thoughts. It’s one of the best cures for me to stir up the well of creativity, especially when I’m staring at a blinking cursor.

Do you see yourself in your characters?

Definitely! Without realizing it, I put a piece of myself in each of the heroines I’ve written. My sister pointed it out to me after the second book was released. She told me about a particular flaw the heroine kept doing, reminding her of when I do the same. I’ll share…when I get passionate about something and speak, I tend to smack my chest or wave my hand in the air. Well, so does Aileen Kerrigan in Dragon Knight’s Medallion. My sister and I had a good laugh over that one.

What do you want your readers to take away from your books?

That anyone can be redeemed. Yet, they must want to seek redemption. It’s not always an easy journey, but it is attainable, especially with love.

Tell us a little about Dragon Knight’s Ring.DragonKnightsRing_w10768_750

Death destroyed their love. Yet, can a trio of Fenian warriors roll back time to reunite two lost souls?

Crusader, Adam MacFhearguis is on one last quest to the standing stones in Scotland where he seeks to bury the past. However, a silent prayer sends him to an unknown future and to his beloved Meggie. When he uncovers a shocking revelation, Adam questions everything about the woman he thought he knew and loved. He may have traveled the veil of ages, but time is now his enemy.

Margaret MacKay lives a life in the future without the memories of her past—her death. When Adam arrives at her door confessing he knows her, she is confused and wary. With each passing day, she yearns to learn more from this stranger. Yet, when a truth is revealed, can she trust the man to unlock the chains from her mind and heart?

Will love free the bonds to unite the two lovers who were doomed centuries ago? Or will evil finally claim victory over the Dragon Knights?

Oh, that is a great tease. How about a peek into the book itself?

Meggie brushed her fingers over the leather pouch. “It feels empty.”

“Are you not tempted to take a wee look inside?”

She snatched her hand back. “I’m not peering inside the man’s belongings. As soon as he wakes, he and his horse can leave.” Giving the horse a firm pat, Meggie walked out of the stall and away from her smirking cousin—only to run smack into her other cousin, Lena.

“Blast,” snapped Meggie, grabbing her cousin by the arm to help steady them both. “Sorry, didn’t see ye,” Seeing the excitement in Lena’s eyes, she stepped back. “What?”

“I hear you have a Highlander in the guest room,” she replied, giving Meggie a wink. “Are you going to share?”

Meggie placed her hands on her hips. “He’s not my Highlander. Feel free to have him, though as soon as he wakes he’s gone from here.”

Lucas strode out of the stables, wiping his hand on a cloth. “I think I’ll go introduce myself, since I think this man bothers you. You keep stating he must leave as soon as he wakes.”

Lena pushed her cousin aside. “No, Lucas. I will go check on him.”

“Ye are both crazy,” protested Meggie. “He’s just a man.” Stepping past them both, she marched away from the stables.

Approaching the entrance of the castle, her nerves tingled and the air cooled. Halting on the gravel courtyard, she slowly glanced up at the guest bedroom window. Gazing down at her was the dark Highlander. His hands were braced on either side of the glass, and Meggie could swear for an instant, she recognized him from somewhere. A dream, perhaps? The look he gave her pierced her soul, and she shivered.

“Impossible,” she muttered. “I don’t dream. And ye are leaving now.”

Breaking from his stare, Meggie entered the castle, almost running up the stairs. By the time she reached the guest room, her hands were shaking. Not even bothering to knock, she pushed open the door and stormed inside.

Her mouth became dry, unable to form the words to order this giant out of her home. His bulk blocked the light from the window as he leaned against the ledge staring at her. She was not one prone to swoon at men—any man, but this one made her a jumbled mess. Moving to the table, she picked up his sword and took it over to him. His eyes widened as she approached and she fell into their dark blue depths.

“I…um…” she stammered before continuing. “Ye should leave.” There, she got the words out.

Instead of reaching for his sword, the man lifted two fingers and caressed her cheek. She gasped, the touch searing her skin, and she took a step back. She could see the look of shock pass over his features, as if he felt the same reaction.

Meggie shoved the sword into his arms and ran for the door. Yet, when her hand touched the handle, she heard him speak.

“Dinnae leave me again, Meggie.”

Whew what great excerpt.  I can’t wait to read Dragon’s Knight Ring.  Unfortunately, I haven’t finished the others, so another to be read out of order.  Story of my life. LOL

Welcome Author Anna Durand

Give a warm welcome to  Anna Durand, author of  the Dangerous In A Kilt.  Well, where is Anna?  Looking around the only person I see is a HOT Scot (fanning self).

Now who might you be?DIK-cover800

“Lachlan MacTaggart.  I believe Anna is on her way, asked me to step in for at bit.”

Oh, oh, you’re the hero from Dangerous In A Kilt. Okay,  lets have a chat, while we wait for Anna.  Pull up a chair, grab a drink of your choice from the cooler, a Chocolate Chip, Peanutbutter or Snickerdoodle cookie from the plate, and let’s find out  what makes this hero tick.

Lachlan MacTaggart, Tell us about the real you—

What event in your past has left the most indelible impression on you? Och, you ask hard questions, woman! I don’t enjoy thinking about it, my failed marriage and the…things that happened. It haunts me to this day.

What do you most value? Family means everything to me. My brothers can be irritating, and my sisters poke their noses into my business, but I love them anyway.

What is the type of woman you want to spend the rest of your life with? Ah…Another difficult one. Part of me wants nothing to do with forever, but since I met Erica, I’m torn. She’s smart, she makes me laugh, and yet she’s vulnerable enough to make me long to protect her. She could be a true partner in life, the only kind of woman who might change my mind about love.

What do you consider most important in life? Respect for others. I can’t abide bullies or those who would bend another to their will just for the sake of control.

What is your biggest secret? Well now, if I told you that it wouldn’t be a secret, lass. Besides, I can’t have Erica finding out about my worst mistake. How could she ever respect me again?

Thanks for being here Lachlan and answering the HARD questions.  I guess Anna got hung up. If you don’t want to run into Erica, you might want to exit out the back door. Quickly.

The Hot Scot moves faster than I believed possible out the back entrance, and in the nick of time!

Well, well, would you look who just walked in.  Welcome, Erica! Have a seat, grab a drink and there’s a few cookies left. Let’s find out a little about you.

Who were the biggest role models in your life? My parents. They taught me right from wrong and to believe in myself–though sometimes I forget that little lesson.

What kind of man do you want to spend the rest of your life with? Ugh, I don’t have the best track record with picking guys. But more than anything I want a man who’s strong but compassionate, has a great sense of humor, never lies to me, and–of course–loves my dog. Starting to sound a bit like someone I just met…

What kind of man would you never choose? The kind who sweet talks you until you can’t see straight, but underneath, he’s just a liar.

What is most important to you in life? Freedom. I may not have it much longer, seeing as I’m charged with embezzlement, so I intend to seize what little I have left to me.

What is your biggest fear? Picking another sleazebag like Presley Cichon. I fell for his honeyed words and got whacked upside the head for it. I never want to make that mistake again.

AnnaDurandFinally, Anna, do you have any idea how close I came to having Lachlan and Erica in the studio at the same time?  Not that it would have matter much, but Erica sure wouldn’t have answered my questions.  I’d offer you a cold drink, but your characters drank them all and Lachlan ate all the cookies but two and Erica ate those, sorry.  But thanks for stopping by. Do you have time for a question or two?

“I’m really behind, but yes, I’ll make time for one.”

Anna, Tell us a little about writing Dangerous in a Kilt.  Was it fun or difficult?  Do your characters always act as you expect? Are you a plotter, or fly (write) by the seat of your pants?

This story came to life in a roundabout way. I’d begun researching Scottish history for a planned historical romance, but when I realized how long the research would take, I decided in the meantime I’d write a different kind of Scottish hero–in a contemporary erotic romance. I also resurrected the underground club from Tempted by a Kiss and set key parts of Dangerous in a Kilt in that club, because I loved the atmosphere of it. I had a great time writing this book! I poured all my passion for writing into the story, creating characters I didn’t want to say goodbye to at the end and a scorching love story I never wanted to finish.

Oh, I totally understand and Lachlan is hot! Whew!

Anna Durand is an award-winning writer specializing in steamy romances populated with spunky heroines and hunky heroes, in settings as diverse as modern Chicago and the fairy realm. Her romances have to date won eight awards and her novel Intuition was a 2016 RONE Award nominee, while her short story Tempted by a Kiss was a finalist in The Romance Reviews 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards. Dangerous in a Kilt won first place in the 2016 Great Beginnings contest, contemporary romance category.
